This had me rolling. 🤣 I feel like this is the same reason why they took away his rifle and won't let him use his jetpack or armor gadgets onscreen.
They had to nerf Commander Cody in clone wars and bad batch or else he'd been too powerful.
Give him a metal chair and ibuprofen he would have been able to defeat anyone. He would have Palpatine on the floor crying.

Writing Notes: Emotions (Fear)
Fear is another difficult emotion to write about, because there are many different degrees and types of fear a character can feel.
Scared: Other Words to Use
HIGH: terrified, overwhelmed, panicked, petrified, alarmed, fearful MODERATE: worried, tense, dread, shaken, anxious, afraid, panicky, panicked LOW: startled, surprised, uneasy, edgy, apprehensive, hesitant, uncomfortable
Fear: Some Signs
Eyebrows may be pulled up and together
Upper eyelids may be pulled up, and lower eyelids may be tense and drawn up as well
The mouth may be stretched and drawn back, possibly exposing teeth
Vertical wrinkles may appear between the eyebrows
Fear: Some Notes
Fear is not the same as nervousness or surprise.
The expression for surprise looks different, and although nervousness is often a precursor to fear, they are not the same.
The expressions for fear and anger share a lot of similarities, including the “fight-or-flight” response. However, the context of the situation is usually enough to tip the readers off to which emotion the character is feeling.
Another way to distinguish the two is with the character’s body language. If a character is angry, they are going to move deliberately and with confidence. They will take up space and command attention with the way they move. An angry person is usually on the offensive, while a fearful person is going to be defensive. A fearful person may try to make themselves small to avoid drawing attention, or they may instinctively shrink away from whatever is frightening them.
Fear: Some Quotes
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. (Frank Herbert)
Bran thought about it. 'Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?' 'That is the only time a man can be brave,' his father told him. (George R.R. Martin)
There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man. (Patrick Rothfuss)
We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. (Plato)
No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear. (C.S. Lewis)

CodyWan Week Day 2: Aro/Ace CodyWan | “There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” — Patrick Rothfuss - The Wise Man's Fear | Beating Off Rival Suitors with a Stick
The orchestra, set up on a lovely raised dais in the corner, pauses their mellow tune and starts up a much more lively jaunt, one that has Obi-Wan quickly setting his glass down and grabbing Cody's hands, leading him straight to the dance floor. "Uh--" Cody stammers, with a beautiful blush dusting his cheeks. "I don't know--"
"How to dance?" Obi-Wan finishes for him, a sharkish sort of smile springing to his face. "It's not difficult, dear. Let me teach you." And then they're chest to chest, with Obi-Wan's hand on Cody's shoulder and an arm wrapped around his waist. He sways quickly, following the tune that the plucking bass sets as he practically drags Cody across the shimmering tile. There are a handful of other couples, filled with dazzling women and dashing men, but Obi-Wan--who would usually be silently checking out his surroundings--only has eyes for the strong, kindhearted man struggling to stay on his feet in his arms. "I'm don't think--" "Feel, don't think," comes Obi-Wan's near instant response. "Just let the music and my arms guide you, darling." Cody's face goes all red again, which just makes Obi-Wan want to whisper more and more touching endearments into the usually stoic Commander's ear. "I won't let you fall."
read the whole fic on my Ao3!!

Wally does NOT take kindly to people who have hurt Dick Grayson
From Nightwing #90, where Wally is assisting Dick in taking down an unexpected villain!
Though Wally had to sait a whole issue for payback, and it's not like Dick doesn't have issues of his own about KGBeast
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
Patrick Rothfuss - "The Wise Man's Fear"
I'll bet that Wally was straight on the Titan's WhatsApp claiming the kudos for THIS one, and come the next Titans meeting, he got high fives all round and got the first choice of pizza toppings)

It’s…surprisingly hard to imagine Kinger being…angry for any reason, insane or lucid. Disappointed? Yeah. Upset? Sure. But…angry? It’s weird to ponder, cuz…like…While insane, he’s such a goof. A paranoid, cuckoolander, nervous wreck, true…but a sweet goofball for the most part.
His response to Zooble admitting that they thought he was next to Abstract was a nice ‘Thank you’ for crying out loud, like it was a compliment.
And while lucid, Kinger’s very calm, wise, and thoughtful.
Of course, there always a possibility for him (Thinking about Little Ed Blue right now) to get mad and…well…
As the saying goes:
There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man. ~ Patrick Rothfuss
An angry…a pissed off Kinger would be frightening.

@codywanweek day 2: A Wise Man’s Fear
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
to reach (into darkness) (towards you)
A part of him would have remained there forever, watching as the perpetual sunrise reached its zenith over and over. It would have been wonderful each and every time the light hit his face for the first time, bathing him in brightness even as he remembered its warmth.
At some point, he’d risen, as if desperately reaching towards the sun. Beside him, Obi-Wan took his hand.
“It’s beautiful.” Obi-Wan’s voice was quiet with admiration, as if he did not wish to disturb the scene before him. Cody turned to face him, he found Obi-Wan’s pale eyes already focused on him.
Cody and Obi-Wan spend the night on a strange planet, with it, the night brings revelations.

how many times does an angel fall?
@codywanweek 2024
Day 2: “There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” – Patrick Rothfuss, “The Wise Man’s Fear”
Inspired by Bitter Chocolate SW AU Ideas/Minifics Part 3, Chapter 16: Star Map AU by BitterChocolateStars
The city is sterile, every part of it white on white, with light seeming to emanate from the very walls. The atmospherics are clinical, as if in a science or medical lab, and he can’t help but wonder what exactly it is that they do here. He is none the wiser as he meets Prime Minister Lama Su, though two hundred thousand units of anything seems both incredibly difficult to imagine and utterly unrealistic for the Republic to have paid for. It isn’t until Master Sifo-Dyas is mentioned that Obi-Wan’s head begins to throb and the star map on his back starts to burn.
Leave it to Master Si to be smack in the middle of this puzzle. It’s not fair to doubt the Council member’s motives, as he’s helped Obi-Wan with his visions more than once, but what Si was thinking by contracting the Kaminoans for... something... on behalf of the Republic and the Jedi Order? What did you see that scared you so much, Master?

My Top 10 Solo Leveling Characters
Inspired by this post
I'll keep the explanations short, but if you want a more in-depth explanation, feel free to ask for more (or look through my blog. It isn't that hard to find with how much I post about certain characters)
Choi Jong-In
Gee, what a surprise-
What I like the most about Choi Jong-In is how complex his character is when you actually analyze him. He comes off as a confident, sly person who does what he wants to get something for himself, but when you read between the lines, there is a lot about him that shows nearly the opposite
One example is how he exudes confidence, nearly borderline arrogance, yet when you observe his physical actions, he almost always doing something with his hands, as if he is nervous and holds back from fidgeting. He also cares a lot about other hunters yet does so very subtly, like during the double dungeon when he was giving orders to the other hunters to try to keep them safe. He reacted like how Baek Yoon-Ho did during the Red Gate incident when he learned about what happened with the high orcs A-Rank gate, showing that he does care about his hunters' safety
Okay, I need to stop
2. Baek Yoon-Ho
This should have been expected from just looking at my blog
Baek Yoon-Ho was actually my favorite character early in the story. I love how despite his intimidating appearance, he is actually very kind and a rather sensitive person. He is one of more fleshed-out side characters in terms of his relationships with other side characters and how his backstory before the gates appeared is talked about a lot in various forms of Solo Leveling
He also has a rather complex personality with how serious he appears in public and how it is clear he cares a great deal about the hunters in his guild, yet with people he is close to, such as his friends, he is very expressive and reacts quite a bit to being teased and such
3. Go Gun-Hee
He needs to show up in the game soon
I love how caring he is with the other hunters, specifically Woo Jin-Chul and the other S-Ranks. He makes teasing remarks towards them and is quite soft with them despite his powerful aura. He definitely has the energy of a grandfather, so I like to think he gets along with all the S-Ranks very well
He also seems very protective of them as he was furious about the Japanese Hunters Association's Chairman's plan to eliminate Korea's S-Ranks. He is like that one quote
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
4. Sung Il-Hwan
Why couldn't he have seen Kyung-Hye one last time-
I also love Sung Il-Hwan's caring nature even though it was only shown after he fought Hwang Dong-Soo and was helping people get out of destroyed buildings and fire. It was nice foreshadowing to him being a firefighter in the past
He's fairly similar to Go Gun-Hee in terms of his protectiveness of the people he cares about and his optimistic/teasing nature even though Sung Il-hwan's personality wasn't shown that much. I admire how he wanted to give up his memories of the previous timeline to properly take care of his son the way he wanted to though. It was very sweet
I want him to be the main character, not his son-
5. Park Kyung-Hye
She should have appeared more. She's so pretty
Not much of her was shown in the manhwa, but the moments of her that stood out to me the most were how she looked out for her family before her own well-being and how she was still waiting for her husband to return
Even when she had just awakened and found out how long she had been asleep for, the first thing she did after getting a grasp on her surroundings is comfort her son. All she knew was that her son had worked hard to take care of him and could see from his hands that he got hurt while doing so. She doesn't know what exactly Sung Jin-Woo did in the years she was asleep yet still thanked him
6. Woo Jin-Chul
Of course he's on the list. Why wouldn't he be on the list
There are many admirable traits that Woo Jin-Chul has, but I think the one that stands out to me the most is his sense of justice and desire to do everything he can to make the world a better place. It doesn't get to the point where it is all he thinks about or does, but it is enough to show that he is passionate about what he believes
His demeanor is also something I like. The way he is stoic and reacts accordingly based on the situation he is in. It makes me wonder about what his personality is actually like behind the mask and when he is not working. Some of it was shown in the side stories, which was very nice to see, though I wish the manhwa had included more moments of him from the novel
He would be higher on the list, but I'm a sucker for parental figures
7. Min Byung-Gyu
The reason I have a strong grudge against Sung Jin-Woo
Min Byung-Gyu is a much stronger person the more you analyze him (I'm working on an analysis of him, so I'll be going into more detail there). The way he is clearly traumatized by the third Jeju raid and had already told Baek Yoon-Ho that he would not be going on the next Jeju raid, yet he still showed up in the end
He likely couldn't bear the thought of the S-Ranks dying without him there more than the possibility of him not being able to save them. Compared to the other side characters, he was actually fleshed out quite a bit, and he was a very unique character compared to the S-Ranks in terms of his personality
He did NOT need to die
8. Son Ki-Hoon
Most underrated character right here
I don't think much about Son Ki-Hoon as he didn't have that much of a presence in the manhwa, but I really like how he was portrayed as a good leader. After all the other raids Sung Jin-Woo had been on prior to this raid, I was really worried that Son Ki-Hoon was going to be selfish like the others. But thankfully, he chose to go the route that would be the safest for the rest of the team (I think he, unfortunately, has bad luck though)
He was also very adamant about protecting his guild members despite it seeming certain that they would die. Not in a self-sacrificial way (which is a trait I personally dislike), but in a way that would the others the best chance of survival while still doing his best to stay alive
9. Park Hee-Jin
She's so pretty alsdkfjafda
Not much of Park Hee-Jin was seen other than the Red Gate, but the game went in depth about her backstory, which I enjoyed watching. To summarize, Park Hee-Jin had "hunches" whenever something is about to go wrong, and although she doesn't know if something will actually happen or not, her instincts are usually right
However, when she tells other people, they usually don't believe her, and when something does happen, they blame her for it. Yet despite the accusations against her, she doesn't let it bother her and just ignores them, focusing on keeping herself and those who do believe her safe. Similar to Park Kyung-Hye, she also has a caring nature with other hunters, especially those younger than her.
10. Eun-Seok
I know he was only in the anime for like. 3 minutes, but hear me out
Despite Eun-Seok not being on screen for long and barely being mentioned anywhere else, the effect he had on the surviving hunters was very impactful. It clearly affected his close friends, Baek Yoon-Ho and Min Byung-Gyu, the latter of whom retired after the raid. It's not clearly stated, but in the game, he also seems to be the reason why Lim Tae-Gyu seems rather jaded at times, so I assume the two must have been close
As for his personality, he seems like someone who looks out for his friends often yet has a playful side to him as well. I hope we get to see more of him later, whether it's in the game or in a flashback in the anime, but already in the anime, they gave him a lot of features, including a whole character design along with very unique powers
I'm very weak towards selfless people who are humble in case you couldn't tell
If you made it this far, congratulations. Have a cookie 🍪 I don't know what other foods to give. Maybe a fruit next time

To be honest, we all know once Huey has been pushed he's gonna have a full on Gohan SS2 moment. Lil dude is gonna move mountains just to remove the assailants from the pokemon world. He himself just suppresses it. He has the Evil Didney villain green magic energy and its only a matter of time (btw don't take this post too seriously. I'm just having fun)
to be fair, there's the saying
"There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man"
Huey is the gentle man XD

Codywan week - day 2
The thing I've written for day two of the @codywanweek. You can enjoy reading on Wattpad, Ao3, or here. Thanks to the all of you who give my short story a try. I'm aware that this is not a good work so don't be afraid to criticize.
Prompt: aro / ace codywan, "There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in a storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man." - Patrick Rothfuss - The Wise Man's Fear, beating rival suitors off with a stick
Cody loved Obi-Wan.
They were best friends. They could be something more. Only Cody could never be enough for Obi-Wan, he could never give what was expected of him in a relationship. It didn't matter that he loved Obi-Wan, that Obi-Wan maybe even liked him back. Cody couldn't do romantic relationships. It was hard to remember sometimes, especially when Obi-Wan was looking so damn comfortable sprawled on Cody's bed, scrolling on his phone.
Cody heard his friend snort. "Found something funny?"
"When I'm without you, I want to rip someone's guts out. Because that somebody might love you too, and only I have the right to love you Obi-Wan. I love you so much, you make me feel alive, and for longer than I remember, I've been dead on the inside," Obi-Wan read from his phone screen.
"What the fuck even is that?"
Obi-Wan was too busy laughing his ass off to answer. If it made Obi-Wan laugh like this, Cody might consider writing a bad love poem himself.
"It's from Maul. Should've expected his way of asking me out to be creative."
"More like deadly."
The problem with Obi-Wan was that he was handsome, kind, smart, overall attractive. He got many love confessions from girls and boys alike. Cody hated it. Obi-Wan never really expressed any interest in any of his admirers but that didn't mean Cody wasn't jealous. He guessed he didn't have to be jealous of Maul, there was no way Obi-Wan would even consider going out with that guy.
"Are you going to help me to think of an appropriate response?" Obi-Wan asked. It was ridiculous, really, Obi-Wan was the one who had the right answer to everything.
"Since when is a no not enough?"
"Since now."
"What about... 'Maybe you should hang out with a mind healer instead'?"
"Cody." Obi-Wan gave Cody his famous disapproving gaze. "Now that would be just uncivilized. It's hardly an appropriate answer."
"And his bad poem is not an appropriate way of asking you out."
"You've got a point. But still..."
Cody just wanted to go and shot Maul in the face. Too bad Obi-Wan would think that uncivilized.
It didn't take too long and Cody was already regretting his decision not to shot Maul in the face. Maul kept texting Obi-Wan. And as if it wasn't enough, Obi-Wan had the feeling that Maul was stalking him. He kept meeting Maul on random places and Maul would always try to initiate a conversation.
Cody finally snapped when he saw it with his own eyes. Maul, that bastard, hitting on Obi-Wan, his beautiful, innocent Obi-Wan. That was the last straw.
"Hey, Maul!" Cody yelled. Before Maul could fully turn around, Cody was already poking him with his new found sword - okay, it was just a random stick he just found but it served it's purpose - in the right direction: away from Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan wasn't all that happy with that. Cody didn't care. Maul deserved this and much worse.
"Why would you even do this?" Obi-Wan asked when Cody refused to admit he made a mistake. Because he didn't make a mistake. Chasing Maul away with a stick was the right thing.
"Isn't that clear?"
"No."
"Well, maybe because he was hitting on you? And stalking you? And didn't listen when you kindly told him to fuck off?"
"That is hardly your problem."
"Of course it's my problem!" Cody argued. "We are friends." You are the love of my life.
"Friends don't normally beat each other's potential interests with a stick!"
"Potential interest?! Maul?! He's a walking red flag."
"What if he wasn't? You've never been supportive of me developing a relationship with... well, anyone," Obi-Wan accused him. It wasn't fair. Cody tried to support Obi-Wan and his relationship. It wasn't his fault that none of the people around Obi-Wan were worth his amazing friend. He wasn't responsible for his crush on Obi-Wan either, that was purely the other's fault.
"Maul doesn't deserve you. No of your suitors do. And just so you know I'm not biased, I don't deserve you either." Did he really just say that? Well now, shit.
"What exactly did you mean by that?" Obi-Wan asked carefully.
"I-" What was Cody supposed to say? "It doesn't really matter."
"I think it does."
"I might have a crush on you?" Cody admitted. He continued before Obi-Wan had the time to say something. "Just forget about it, it's just a silly crush. We can- we can still be friends." At least Cody hoped so.
"Cody I- I had no idea you felt this way..."
"Obi-Wan, just. just forget about this, plea-"
"No, Cody, I- I have a crush on you too. Have had since... well, for quite some time," Obi-Wan confessed. That wasn't what Cody expected. And it also wasn't the happy end that it probably should have been. Because Obi-Wan deserved someone better than Cody. "We could- we could try to make this work."
"It won't work, Obi-Wan."
"You don't know that!"
"I do. You deserve better, Obi-Wan."
"I know you, Cody. You are the best man I could ever hope for."
"You deserve someone better, Obi-Wan. I'm asexual. I can't give you everything a proper boyfriend should. You deserve more than I can give you."
Obi-Wan looked to be considering Cody's words. Then he gripped Cody's hand. "Is this okay?"
Cody nodded.
Obi-Wan cupped Cody's jaw with his other hand. "Is this fine?"
"Yeah."
Obi-Wan smiled at that before gently pulling Cody into a keldabe kiss. "What about this? Is this alright?"
Cody's breath hitched at how close they were. If he leaned a little forward, their lips would touch. That probably wouldn't be alright. But this, just standing close, with their foreheads touching, this felt nice. "This feels good."
"This is all I need, Cody. Simple touches. I don't need anything more."
Cody felt his cheeks flushing, his lips curling into a dumb grin. "You mean... we could be together. Like this. Nothing more."
"Nothing more."
Cody loved Obi-Wan.

Very, very understandable reaction to finding out your loved one is kidnapped.
Best way to describe my reaction to such a thing should it happen? Well…. There’s a reason why this phrase exists;
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
